Faith in God without faith in yourself is like having a suped up sports car without wheels, there may be lot’s of power under that hood, but you ain’t going anywhere!
Being connected to God is definitely a powerful thing, like revving the engine & feeling the car begin to pulsate with each press of the gas pedal. But it’s the wheels of the car that touch the earth & allow the powerful motor to cause movement. So are we, the ones that touch the earth allowing the power of God to bring movement!
When God called Moses to step up, he replied “Who am I, that I should go?” (Ex. 3:11) Even after a convincing argument from God, Moses still responded with “send someone else to do it.”(Ex.4:13)
God believed in Moses, but Moses didn’t believe in himself!
When God called Gideon, he responded with “I’m the black sheep of my family!” (Judg. 6:15) When God called Jeremiah, he said “I’m too young!” (Jer. 1:6) When Jesus called Peter, he said “I’m too sinful!” (Luke 5:8)
The list can go on, God believes in people, but they struggle to believe in themselves!
In each case above, God has to convince each person why they can do what He’s called them to do. Why? Because He needs them to believe in themselves!
Faith in God without faith in yourself, will definitely bring you lot’s of good stuff, but God won’t be able to use you until you cooperate with Him by believing in yourself too!
God believes in you, but do you believe in yourself?
